KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/主要职责
The Coatings Technical Manager will have broad coatings market knowledge and have the ability to develop and formulate interior architectural paints and coatings based on Wacker VAE dispersions. The employee must understand coatings industry specific standards and testing equipment and methods. In this role the employee will safely support product development and/or technical service of customers by doing general lab work including the preparation and testing of materials; proactively and independently supporting the coatings business by initiating projects, generating data, and effectively communicating results. The employee will Influence the development of coatings products on a regional level by actively participating in strategy discussions and work with sales to grow a profitable business. The employee will provide technical service for current coatings accounts and engage accounts in new product development discussions for new business opportunities and actively conduct general lab work for preparing and testing of materials.
Serve as a role model to all lab personnel. Establish and implement safe work practices to insure safe operation of technology assets within AD/TS. The position requires direct representation of WACKER Polymers to customers and external organizations.
Principle Accountabilities:
1. Support the development and growth of the China coatings business
2. Must be able to work independently and be proactive by initiating projects to support the coatings business
3. Professional representation of Wacker Polymers to customers and external organizations
4. Responsible for the safety and quality management of the laboratory according to the guidelines
5. Effectively influence development of peers within the technical engineer community
6. Strengthen and develop technical competence on Vinnapas dispersions
7. Plans and conduct trainings for Wacker staff, external customers and distributors
8. Increase our existing market share with Vinnapas dispersions
9. Participate in monthly network evening phone conferences
10. Utilize laboratory equipment to prepare and test samples and provide data in a clear concise manner; record all work accurately in a laboratory notebook
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION/必备条件(education, language, expertise, functional competencies)
Advanced college degree
Advanced knowledge of chemistry
Minimum of 8 years of coatings industry experience
Must be able to formulate interior architectural paint and coatings
In-depth knowledge of coatings industry specific standards and testing equipment and methods
Fluency in English
Willingness to travel locally
Time management, project management and communication skills
