It seems that the English club is not hot, we cound find lots of new topics, discussion in others field, but in this club, no one update a topic for several weeks. Ohh, come on, warm up here then move forward!

Well, I am pleased to give you an example and I wish you all a nice weekend.

A business man got on an elevator.
When he entered, there was a blonde already inside who greeted him with a bright smile, "T-G-I-F."
He smiled at her and replied, "S-H-I-T."
She looked puzzled and repeated, "T-G-I-F," more slowly.
He again answered, "S-H-I-T."
The blonde was trying to keep it friendly, so she smiled her biggest smile, and said as sweetly as possible, "T-G-I-F."
The man smiled back to her and once again, "S-H-I-T."
The exasperated blonde finally decided to explain. "'T-G-I-F' means Thank Goodness It's Friday. Get it, duuhhh?"
The man answered, "'S-H-I-T' means 'Sorry, Honey, It's Thursday.'"

OK，TGIF的意思便是：Thank Goodness It's Friday，感谢老天，总算到星期五啦！周五一到，意味着一周两天的休息日到来，又可以摆脱工作和学习的烦扰，痛快地睡个懒觉了！

A story about "T-G-I-F"

A German guy finished his work in China for 7 years and was ready to back to his country Germany. It was really sad to say goodbye for all of us. During this 7 years, he set up a good relationship with his Chinese friends and he already loved China. Before he left, he invited all of us to the party. To avoid the sadness, he orgazined the party on the subject "T-G-I-F" insteady of "farewell". He also asked us to guess what "T-G-I-F" is. Frankly speaking, it was a very nice party. None of us mentioned the "farewell" in the party and avoided to express upset feeling in the party. We surrounded by good wine, delicous food, nice music and sweet waitress. At the end of pary, he asked "as promised, I will tell you what "T-G-I-F" is, but let me know what your answer is first."
One said "It is a wonderful part, "T-G-I-F" is Thailand Girls, Italian Food. Thank you for inviting me!"
What a classical Answer!

because most of us haven't use english in our daily life, especially in the area of coating and resin at present. so our english club is also have a long way to go.lets make afforts together,thank you.

sure, I agree with you. I think in this forum, there could be lots of people have over-sea experience and work in the MNCs, such as PPG, Akoz, 3M, Degussage.....I understand it is more local one at the current situation, but I wish it would come to a international forum one day. I am sure the true will come true eventually cuz we have smart people, big market in China. China & Chinese play more and more important role in the world now.

In my opinon,most of ours english is not very well.so we just as a looker in our english chub at most of time,not a speaker.

u can take every opportunity to improve ur English, join the club in ur city, surf the English Webs and find the things u r really interested in, such as movie, music, trip, then discover the English movie, music even join some travel club and make friends who are native English speaking and have trips with them. U can learn English from ur hobby.

is it possible that admin organize an English Club, not just in Internet, but face to face in some locations, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai or Beijing..... so that we can have some drinks, chating, tea time or party cuz we can share the same topic, coating......meanwhile we can consider to invite some oversea specialist, so that it helps us improve English and have fun too?

From my opinion, the best way to learn a language is to speak out and do not afraid of making mistakes. I remembered that I've ever met a Spanish guy in Germany, he can speak 6 languages including Chinese. He kept talking with me in Chinese, I was thinking that he has ever been to China or at least has learnt Chinese for several years. But I was wrong. You will never believe that he has just learnt Chinese by himself for 5 months! You see? Then how long have us leartn English?

Vocabulary is also a big headache for me. My experience is you do not have to recite the words themselves, but try to "guess" or understand them according to the context, in other words, reading is even more important than vocabulary. Also, correct pronouciation will absolutely help you to write the words even you do not know them.

Most people would say they have vocabulary problem, however, think about that, is it necessary you have a large vocabulary before you speak English? The kids are willing to talk by only few words they learn. It doesn't matter, they can express what they thought, on the other hand people also understand the kids. That is enough for the communication.
