This procedure is limited to the operation of the WHIRLING HYGROMETER as supplied by Elcometer Products.

PROCEDURE操作程序

Whirling hygrometers consist of wet and dry bulb thermometers mounted side by side in a

frame with a spindle and handle attached. The wet bulb is sheathed in a fabric wick, which is

kept damp by soaking up water from a separate chamber. This chamber has to be topped

up from time to time.
旋转湿度计由并排装裱在带有手柄的锭子里的湿球和干球温度计组成. 湿球上套有一直保湿的棉质物. 棉质物由另一只容器供水. 此容器必须一直装满水.

In the chamber distilled or rain water is preferred, but if it is unavailable tap water will do. Salt

water should never by used for this purpose because it will cause inaccurate readings
容器内的水最好是蒸馏水或是雨水. 如果条件限制,难以获得蒸馏水或是雨水, 自来水也行. 盐水不可被使用, 因为它会影响读数的正确性.

1. To operate, the hygrometer is held by the handle away from the body and quickly rotated

horizontally for 15-30 seconds facing the direction of wind or air flow.
握住手柄,使湿度计对准风或空气流动的方向快速水平旋转15-30秒.

2. This is repeated until the wet bulb thermometer cools down to a constant frame temperature and two consecutive pairs of readings agree.

重复旋转几次直到湿球温度计读数下降到恒定不变. 这个恒定不变的读数要连续两次得到, 才算有效.

3. After noting the temperature of the wet and dry bulbs, dew point and relative humidity can be determined by using a dew point and relative humidity calculator, or by referring to hygrometric tables.

记录干, 湿球温度后, 露点和相对湿度可以通过露点和相对湿度计算器或查表得到.
