Thyosil E 1549 is an emulsion polymer designed for use in factory-applied, water based, acrylic wood finishes that require, grain character, clarity ,warmth and good sandability.

Thyosil E 1549 based sealers are clear just after its application due to its outstanding wet film clarity. This sealer formulation dries very fast.

Very fast drying 快干特性
At a film thickness of 3 to 4 wet mils , Sanding Sealer Formulation based on Thyosil E 1549can be sanded after 20 minutes ambient temperature.

The level of hardness required depends on the amount of the kind of coalescing solvent used in the Sanding Sealer formulation.

The sand ability performance shown on the chart above, is the result of the comparison of different sealers available in the market.

Specific sanding times may vary upon the end use, ambient humidity, temperatures and kind of wood.Coatings are applied to maple veneer at a wet film thickness of 3-4 mils.
Film condition was controlled at intervals by hand sanding with 220 garnet sand paper while drying at 25oC and 50% relative humidity.Coating is considered sandable when they powdered well and did not clog the sandpaper.Heat was not applied during drying. However, good air ventilation is critical to early setting and sanding.

THyosil E 1549 based on sanding  sealer formulations show outstanding clarity , grain definition, and the warmth and depth are excellent. Sealer are almost clear from the moment of application due to their tiny particles size.

The correct wetting of the surface play a big role in the clarity, the selection of the kind and quantity of coalescing solvent makes the difference  to achieve an excellent wetting and film formation.

Since Thyosil E 1549 has a very  narrow molecular weight and particle size distribution, its penetration in the wood is very fast.

Application 应用
•        A smooth surface is obtained by sanding the wood with #150-320 garnet sandpaper.
•        用# 150 - 320砂纸把木头的表面打磨光滑。
•        After applying a first coating, wait until it gets dried.  Afterwards, sand again the wood using #320 garnet sandpaper.
•        油完第一层后，等到它变干。然后再使用# 320砂纸打磨。
•        A second coat is applied and the wood is left for two weeks drying before performing the quality tests.
•        油完第二层后，放置2周后测试其品质性能。
Formulation Tips 配方提示
»Coalescent: THYOSIL E1549 could be used at room temperature with the addition of coalescing solvents. The selection of an optimum coalescing system depends on the required drying rate, environment temperature and relative humidity. It is usually recommended 30% of coalescing solvents, as well may be used lower levels of coalescing solvent upon the porosity of the wood, the type of application equipment, moisture conditions and co-solvents present in the formulation.        Reducing the amount of coalescent solvent allows faster drying, but an excessive reduction may result in poorer film formation and consequently the loss of the stain resistance. Various types of coalescing may be used.  It must be determined for each application. It is recommended to allow standing the formulations at least 8 hours after addition of coalescing agents to obtain consistency results in the tests performed.
THYOSIL E1549  可以在常温下可以添加成膜助剂，根据所需要的干燥速度,温度和湿度，选择最佳的配比。通常推荐使用 30%的成膜助剂（与配方中E1594的固含量相比），也可以低于或高于此水平，取决于基材的具体特性，所使用的设备，水分含量等条件。减少成膜助剂的使用干燥速度会快，但若添加太少会影响成膜性，同时还会减少防污性能。可以使用各种成膜助剂，它必须适合所需要的应用，添加的成膜助剂要8小时前后测试结果没有变化。
»Rheology Modifiers: 流变改性剂  We suggest the use of associative thickeners. Keep in mind that the efficiency of urethane associative thickeners depends largely on the selection of coalescing system adopted

»Antifoam消泡剂: The adequate antifoam needs to be tested in each case.  As well, the amount to add needs to be adjusted to prevent loss of film clarity.

»Wetting agents润湿剂:  They are additives that promote good flow and leveling properties.  These additives must be adjusted carefully as microfoam generally cause defects  可以改善流平性，添加时要注意微泡导致的缺陷
