Obtaininga highly flexible film is a principal challenge for printing inks.Consequently, you may want to choose the best plasticizers to ensure sufficient flexibility or specific properties such as preventing early or quick drying of the ink in the screen.
The innovativeplasticizer called Hexamoll® DINCH gives excellent printing inks withimproved properties. You also can reduce the quantity of Hexamoll®DINCH compared to conventional plasticizers, which leads to a smaller residual solvent content remaining in the printing inks but also a production more cost effective.
Despitethe reduction in the amount of plasticizer, there is no impairment ofthe other important application-related properties of the printinginks. It also offers good adhesion, gloss, viscostability and low surface tension.Hexamoll® DINCH has a positive impact on the substrate wetting whileoffering excellent plasticizing properties (even at low temperatures).Due to its low brittleness temperature Hexamoll® DINCH is alsoappropriate for outdoor applications.
PrintingInks with Hexamoll® DINCH are especially suitable for mechanicalprinting processes, such as offset, flexographic or screen printing.
As shown below, Hexamoll® DINCH exhibits a lower surface tension than other plasticizers available on the market:

Hexamoll® DINCH has an excellent toxicological profile and has been designed as a phthalate alternative. This non-phthalate plasticizer has a food approval and exhibits low odor.
Acomparative test to evaluate the odor level of 3 main plasticizers hasbeen conducted on a panel of 15 people. Below are the results of thistest:
As shown here, Hexamoll® DINCH is the less odorous plasticizer | Why use Hexamoll® DINCH in your printing inks formulations?
- Low surface tension
- Nearly odorless
- Excellent toxicological profile
- Non-phthalate
- Low migration
- Food approval
- Low viscosity (also over storage time)
In addition to this excellent balance of properties, Hexamoll® DINCH can be used in a wide range of sensitive applications such as: food contact packaging, etc. |
